ST. LOUIS – A Breckenridge Hills teen has been charged as an adult in connection with a murder last December in St. Louis City’s Gravois Park neighborhood.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the murder happened a little after 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2024, in the 3600 block of Minnesota Avenue.
Officers found the victim, Romel White, suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. White was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. He was 17.
Investigators learned there had been a group of people at a home one block over on Pennsylvania Avenue, and that there was an ongoing disagreement between several males at the residence. Police said two of the males, identified as Corion Harris-Wicks, 15, and Marcus A. Allen, had planned on killing White that day and discussed their plan while at the home on Pennsylvania.
At one point, police said Harris-Wicks and Allen went to a store with the group. While walking back to the home, the pair held back from the group. Allen handed a gun to Harris-Wicks to shoot White.
Police said Harris-Wicks attempted to shoot White, but the gun jammed. Harris-Wicks handed the gun back to Allen, who racked the firearm and gave it back to Harris-Wicks, who then shot White.
Allen was arrested in February, though it’s unclear when Harris-Wicks was taken into custody.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged both Harris-Wicks and Allen with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Both remain jailed without bond. Allen’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 3. Online records do not show any future court dates for Harris-Wicks.
