ST. LOUIS – A 17-year-old was charged as a juvenile Friday in connection with another teenager’s death outside of a St. Louis gas station earlier this month.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has not disclosed the identity of the 17-year-old, but says charges of first-degree murder, first degree-assault, armed criminal action, first-degree tampering and unlawful use of a weapon were applied at the juvenile court.
The victim, identified by St. Louis police as 15-year-old Jamar Hamilton of St. Louis County, was fatally shot overnight on Nov. 12 in the 8800 block of North Broadway in St. Louis’ Baden neighborhood.
Hamilton was found dead around 1:40 a.m. outside of a gas station with gunshot wounds. Investigators say he was with a group of people who exchanged gunfire with occupants of another vehicle.
The 17-year-old who was charged Friday had been arrested on Nov. 12 in connection with an unrelated incident, according to St. Louis police.
