ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A head-on crash left three people dead and a boy injured Sunday night in Bellefontaine Neighbors.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash happened around 10:50 p.m. on Lewis and Clark Boulevard, north of Comet Drive, involving a Nissan Altima and a Chevrolet Caprice.
The crash occurred when the Chevrolet Caprice crossed the double yellow line while traveling southbound, causing the vehicle to strike the Nissan Altima head-on. The crash left the driver of the Chevrolet Caprice, a 25-year-old man, dead at the scene. Additionally, authorities pronounced the driver of the Nissan Altima, a 20-year-old woman, and a passenger in the vehicle, a 21-year-old woman, dead at the scene.
After the crash, authorities transported a 12-year-old boy in the Chevrolet Caprice to a nearby hospital, suffering serious injuries.
According to MSHP, the passenger in the Nissan Altima was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if the individuals in the crash were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
