ST. LOUIS – Friday marked the last day for 70 workers at Homer G. Phillips Memorial Hospital in north St. Louis.
After opening in January 2024, the hospital suspended operations and furloughed those 70 employees in December, citing a lack of blood supply.
Earlier this week, those furloughed employees were notified their layoffs would be permanent.
On Friday, FOX 2 spotted some employees collecting belongings before leaving the hospital, in addition to security officers guarding the premises.
