CLAYTON, Mo. — A man from Miami Beach, Florida is being charged after allegedly pretending to work for Bank of America’s fraud department and stole $8,500 from a victim’s bank account.

According to the Clayton Police Department, Albert Valle, age not provided, withdrew the money from the bank located at 8100 Forsyth Blvd. on August 5, 2024.

Police said Valle contacted the victim and identified himself as an employee of the bank’s fraud department and asked for the victim’s account information.

The victim gave Valle his bank information and noticed later that two withdrawals totaling $8,500 came out of his account without his approval.

Police obtained bank surveillance footage, which showed a male suspect withdrawing the money at the bank. Valle was made a possible suspect and police compared his previous booking photos with the surveillance video.

Valle has been charged with stealing $750 or more and is currently at-large. He is scheduled for a criminal setting hearing on March 31.
