ST. LOUIS – A Florissant woman is dead, and an infant is in critical condition following a three-vehicle crash Saturday evening in north St. Louis.
According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, the crash happened just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of North Broadway and North Calvary Avenue, in the city’s North Riverfront neighborhood.
A Mazda 6 was speeding south on N. Broadway when the vehicle entered the northbound lanes of traffic and collided with a Jeep Wrangler. The collision caused the Wrangler flip.
A Chevrolet Malibu, also traveling in the northbound lanes, was struck by the Mazda as well.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler was rushed to the hospital, where she died. She was 31. A 5-month-old child in the Wrangler was hospitalized and is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Malibu was also taken to the hospital but is in stable condition.
Police said three additional juveniles were taken to the hospital. They’re in stable condition. It’s unclear if they were occupying the Jeep Wrangler or the Malibu.
The driver of the Mazda 6 was picked up by an unknown person and taken to a local hospital. He’s listed in stable condition.
