ST. LOUIS – A teen girl is facing a felony charge after bringing a loaded firearm to Confluence Preparatory Academy in St. Louis Monday.

18-year-old Taijanae Daniel is charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon (loaded weapon into school, bus, premises, function).

Police were called to the St. Louis school for a disturbance after a security officer noticed a backpack containing a loaded black and chrome pistol inside. Additionally, a necklace with Daniel’s picture on it was found in the backpack.

The gun was loaded with nine live cartridges, according to the probable cause statement.

Surveillance footage captured Daniel walking into school with the backpack and placing it on the ground with no one else touching the backpack.

She is being held without bond.
