FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – A fatal crash on Friday morning along Highway 100 resulted in the death of a 26-year-old driver from New Haven, Missouri, and left another driver seriously injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 11:45 a.m. on Friday just east of Recreation Drive. A 2000 Toyota Avalon, driven by the 26-year-old man, was traveling westbound when it veered off the right side of the road. The driver crossed into oncoming traffic, where his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.

Emergency responders pronounced the Toyota driver deceased at the scene at around noon. His body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue after the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, a 40-year-old man from Union, Missouri, was seriously injured. He was taken to a hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
