MISSOURI – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed 10 fatalities from Friday’s severe storms across the state.

As of Saturday morning, MSHP says it currently has reports of 10 fatalities across four counties. These include…

  • Six deaths in Wayne County
  • Two deaths in Ozark County
  • One death in Jefferson County
  • One death in Butler County

Tornado-warned storms slammed much of the state Friday evening, also packing gusts up to 90 mph, hail, and heavy rain.

At least six tornadoes may have touched down across the St. Louis region Friday evening, based on early radar data and damage reports submitted to FOX 2. The National Weather Service (NWS) has not confirmed final tornado counts, which will follow ongoing storm surveys in the coming days.

Areas that were most likely impacted by tornado activity include Rolla, Union, Villa Ridge, Bridgeton, Florissant, and Arnold in Missouri, along with O’Fallon and Lebanon in Illinois.
