ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities are investigating the sudden death of a woman overnight in north St. Louis County that is believed to be the result of a “possible electrocution.”

The St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct officers responded to the sudden death in the 3000 block of Wintergreen Drive, just north of Florissant city limits, after midnight Saturday.

Police say a woman was found in the backyard of her home near electrical lines. The woman was found deceased at the scene.

On Friday, severe storms rolled through the St. Louis region, producing tornado-warned activity, strong winds, hail, lightning and rain over the late-evening hours. Though it’s currently unclear how or whether the storms played a role in the woman’s death.
