ST. LOUIS – Dozens of firefighters and other people in the community will climb 900 steps for a life-saving cause.

It’s an annual fundraiser for the American Lung Association called the ‘Fight for Air Climb.’

Participants will scale all of the steps to the top of the Metropolitan Square Building, which is the tallest building in Missouri.

The event raises awareness about lung disease, a critical issue for firefighters who face smoke and poor air quality on the job every day.

Money raised will help people battling lung conditions.

The first group of climbers are set to begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning.
