ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – A St. Charles County Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant for a Wildwood, Missouri, man accused of stealing a large piece of construction equipment in 2022.

According to the O’Fallon Police Department’s probable cause statement, the theft happened between April 4 and May 10, 2022, at an unspecified address.

Police said Robert D. Crutcher stole a 2017 Caterpillar 299 skid-steer track machine from the property.

The stolen track machine, valued at $50,000, was recovered on Oct. 10, 2024, at Crutcher’s Wildwood home, police said.

It’s unclear if Crutcher drove the Caterpillar from O’Fallon to Wildwood or loaded the machinery onto a trailer for transport.

Police said Crutcher admitted stealing construction equipment across the state, including two skid-steers, trailers, utility vehicles, and golf carts, all of which were found on his property.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Crutcher with stealing – $25,000 or more. The arrest warrant carries $10,000 cash-only bond.
