ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An Overland man was arrested Monday for allegedly threatening a person outside a local gas station with a knife.

According to the Overland Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident happened around 6:45 a.m. outside the QuikTrip in the 9400 block of Page Avenue.

Police said Daniel S. Browne repeatedly punched the victim, then held a large knife to the person’s neck.

The victim was able to get away, ran inside the QuikTrip, and told the clerk, who then called police. Police said part of the attack was caught on surveillance video, and officers identified Browne due to prior dealings.

Browne was later taken into custody at an On the Go gas station in the 9700 block of Page, and the knife was recovered.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Browne with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Brown remains jailed on a $100,000 cash-only bond. Online records did not indicate his next scheduled court date.

Police said Browne has a pending case in St. Louis County for possession in which he has failed to appear in court multiple times.
