ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is asking for the public’s help in relation to a fatal dog attack that occurred on Jan. 15, 2025.

According to the office, prosecutors are alleging that the owner’s dogs attacked Gladys Anthony, 62, and her husband in the Walnut Park neighborhood.

According to officials, Anthony, who was deaf, died from her injuries while in surgery, but her husband survived the attack.

“This heartbreaking event has left a family mourning and a community shaken,” said Circuit Attorney Gore. “We’re asking anyone with information about this attack, or any previous incidents involving these same dogs, to reach out and help us move this investigation forward.”

FOX 2 has learned that the alleged suspect is not in custody and has not received any charges in relation to the incident.

According to a previous FOX 2 report, the dogs in the attack—whose breeds weren’t disclosed—were seized by the St. Louis City’s Animal Control Division.

Police initially said they were investigating how the dogs got out of their yard at a nearby home.

“That’s all under investigation. There appears to be some kind of hole in the fence. We don’t know if the dogs had dug their way out of that backyard,” St. Louis Metropolitan Police Director of Public Affairs Mitch McCoy said previously

The Circuit Attorney’s Office urges anyone with potential leads surrounding the event or past incidents regarding the dogs to contact them at 314-622-4941 or email info@circuitattorney.org
