JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe will be visiting St. Louis in the aftermath of Friday’s storm, which left multiple dead.

“Claudia and I are deeply saddened to learn of the deaths and injuries caused by the tornadoes and severe storms that have affected much of the state today. Our prayers are with all those impacted,” Kehoe said.

Kehoe continued in his statement to thank first responders who responded to those in crisis.

On his trip to the city, Kehoe will be meeting with St. Louis mayor Cara Spencer.

Both leaders are urging residents to avoid damaged areas. Today, many neighborhoods were left with debris from the storm, as well as cars damaged by trees.

“Our city is grieving tonight,” Spencer said in a press conference. “The loss of life and destruction is truly horrendous.”

The death toll, as of this evening, is five.

Crew members are currently removing debris in neighborhoods, but a curfew in two St. Louis districts is in effect. Districts 5 & 6 will be under curfew until tomorrow morning, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced.
