ST. LOUIS – Today, North Side Community School transformed into a hub of hope, offering more than just supplies — it offers relief with dignity.

“When I came up here to the lady, she was like, ‘We’re letting you wash your clothes and stuff and showers and everything!’ You know how many people you guys are helping just doing the small thing like washing their clothes, giving them a nice place to take a shower… it’s such a blessing,” Octavia Pastrica said.

From hot meals and hygiene kits to free laundry and help to replace IDs—the support came from all directions.

“Just to see how everybody has been helping each other… it’s needed. I just think it’s wonderful. I’m grateful the services are available, and for all those that can help, please do — because the people need it,” Nina Cook said.

Even those volunteering had their own families affected by the storm —like Angela Jones-Bugett, whose brother and uncle lost everything.

“Their homes are gone. My brother’s house is completely gone… devastated. We’ve been trying to help out because it’s a lot down here. A lot of people who have nothing,” she said.

Organizers like Valor Village and Sikhs of Missouri will be back at it Tuesday On Kingshighway. More information about tomorrow’s event can be found here.
