MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – A driver was put in handcuffs Friday morning after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
The pursuit began a little before 2 a.m. Friday morning after the driver reportedly fled from police at milepost 18 on Interstate 64.
Officers from Fairview Heights, Madison County, and the Illinois State Police were all in pursuit in the chase. Authorities say the pursuit went from Madison County and ended on Route 3 when the vehicle crashed in Venice.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. FOX 2’s Brian Howe in the Nissan Rogue Runner says the driver was a younger man and did not appear to be injured.
