Recent Amber Alert determined to be false report: Police

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – Investigators with the St. Clair County Police Department have determined a recent Amber Alert issued for a missing mother and her two daughters was a false report.

According to a department statement, “the initial report of abduction was exaggerated.”

The woman and two children allegedly went missing late Sunday afternoon from their O’Fallon, Missouri, home. The Amber Alert was sent out on Monday morning and later canceled that afternoon.

The investigation into the false report is ongoing, but police said charges may be filed.
