ST. LOUIS – A man was robbed by three suspects Monday afternoon at a St. Louis motel after he arranged to meet a woman he connected with online, police say. All three suspects have since been arrested.
The robbery happened around 3 p.m. Monday at a motel in the 3600 block of Hamilton Avenue in St. Lous’ Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.
Investigators say the victim, 26-year-old man, invited a woman he met online to his motel room. When he answered a knock on the door, one woman and two men were waiting. The two men went inside and held him at gunpoint, taking his car keys, pants, and other belongings.
The three suspects then drove away in the victim’s car. Officers spotted the stolen car on I-70, leading to a brief pursuit that ended with a crash on the McKinley Bridge.
Police arrested a 46-year-old and a 39-year-old man, along with a 31-year-old woman. Two of the suspects received medical treatment after the crash. Police did not disclose whether the woman arrested was who the victim intended to meet.
