FERGUSON, Mo. – A missing teen led Ferguson police to a suspected child sex trafficker

The investigation began early Monday morning when the Ferguson Police Department received a call regarding a missing teen.

“We also found a letter at the house from the juvenile giving away all of her belongings, clothes, everything to her siblings,” Capt. Tim Harris, Ferguson PD’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, said.

What they found was not your typical missing person case.

“We really took this seriously that she had the means to get away, and he told her exactly what to bring. We were in fear that she might fly,” Harris said.

After tracking the 15-year-old’s phone, police found her at an apartment on Pershing Avenue just north of Forest Park. According to officials, she was there with another teenage girl from St. Louis who was reported missing a year ago.

Court documents allege the teens were there with Keron Austin Williams, 29, who had, at times, offered both girls money for sex.

The victim from Ferguson had multiple sexual encounters with Williams dating back to last June, when the victim was 14. At that time, Williams is accused of offering the minor $500 for sex.

Police fear there could be another 10 victims. During their investigation, they found out that the apartment where Williams was found is known to have young girls coming and going.

Williams is in custody on multiple counts of sex trafficking a child and statutory rape. He is currently being held on no bond.

Police are following leads on more potential suspects as well.
