ST. LOUIS – One man was fatally struck Saturday afternoon on Interstate 44 in St. Louis, police say.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports the man was struck around 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the westbound lanes of I-44 near the Walnut Street exit. The incident led to some traffic closures on the interstate.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police say a man jumped from a bridge onto I-44 before he died. An accident reconstruction team with SLMPD evaluated the scene.
