ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis Zoo is in the running for the title of America’s “Best Zoo” as part of a national poll conducted by USA TODAY.
People can help the Saint Louis Zoo gain national recognition by voting in the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. A panel nominated 20 zoos around the United States for spotlight.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, Saint Louis Zoo ranked sixth among nominees, with Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio atop the leaderboard.
Saint Louis Zoo, founded in 1910, is widely respected for its animal research and education programs, along with its conservation efforts. It is also one of the few accredited zoos in the country that offers free admission to guests.
