ST. LOUIS — An 18-year-old has been charged with murdering a man behind a Mobile gas station in the city’s Fairgrounds neighborhood.
According to court documents, Christopher Taylor Jr., 18, fatally shot a man who was parked in the alleyway off North Grand and Natural Bridge.
Mobile’s surveillance cameras showed Taylor walk up to the driver’s side of the victim’s vehicle as another suspect walked up to the passenger side.
The other suspect leans into the car through the passenger side window and reaches in. As the victim attempts to leave the vehicle, Taylor shoots him with a firearm, and the other suspect leaves the window with what appears to be another firearm.
The two suspects fled the area in a red Infinity. While the victim was able to get out of his vehicle, he collapsed a short distance away.
Police said they utilized information gathered from one of the suspect’s phones to determine their location before, during, and after the murder.
Additional video gathered from one of their phone’s shows Taylor in a video just two hours before the murder. The video showed he was wearing the same clothing he was also seen in on the surveillance video.
Taylor has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action. He is scheduled for a detention hearing on Feb. 19.
