Missouri bill would allow cotton be transported to market faster—literally

MISSOURI — A new Missouri bill would allow cotton trailers to travel faster on roadways despite a current speed limitation.

According to Senate Bill 28, the proposal would increase the maximum speed cotton trailers may travel from 40 miles per hour to 65 miles per hour.

The proposal, sponsored by Republican Senator Jason Bean, would also repeal a requirement that cotton trailers be used exclusively for transporting cotton.
