ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant Saturday for a man accused of an armed carjacking just before Christmas last year.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the carjacking occurred on Dec. 23 at the Conoco gas station at South Broadway and Osceola Street in the city’s Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

Police said Davion A. Pruitt, 18, walked up to the victim, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded the keys to the victim’s 2011 Cadillac Escalade.

The victim gave the keys to Pruitt, who drove off in the Escalade, police said. No injuries were reported.

Investigators said the carjacking was caught on surveillance video and that Pruitt later admitted to the robbery.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Pruitt with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. He’ll be jailed without bond upon arrest.
