ST. LOUIS – Nearly 1,800 Ameren Missouri customers are without power Tuesday morning in south St. Louis amidst the ongoing winter weather.

The power outages occurred on Chippewa Street near Grand Boulevard in south St. Louis around 5 a.m. A majority of the customers impacted are residents in south St. Louis’ Tower Grove South, Dutchtown, and Bevo neighborhoods.

The power outages are estimated to restored around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. It is unknown what caused the power outages.

Ameren Missouri reported that they were closely monitoring the winter storm and the potential of power outages due to the impact of snow on power lines. The utility company is utilizing smart technology to reroute power quickly during outages.
