ST. LOUIS – An arrest was made in connection with a decade-old cold case killing, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced Tuesday.

Homicide detectives arrested a 26-year-old man for the 2015 shooting death of Tameeka Brown.

According to a police spokesperson, the shooting occurred shortly before 12:10 a.m. on April 13 in the 5500 block of Greer Avenue in the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood.

Police found Brown—pronounced dead at the scene—in a field near her home, with multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Brown was 35 and a mother of five.

A witness told police that they heard gunshots and saw a car leaving the site with its headlights off.

The man accused of Brown’s death was 16 years old when the shooting happened, police say. The case has been referred to Juvenile Court.

With an arrest made, detectives urge anyone with information to call the Homicide Division at 314-444-5371.
