ST. LOUIS – Two people are dead after two separate murders Wednesday night and overnight Thursday morning in St. Louis City.

Homicide detectives are investigating both of the shootings Thursday morning, as the two shootings happened about two hours apart. Police say the first incident happened in south St. Louis City and the second in north city.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the first shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night on the 7500 block of Minnesota Avenue in south St. Louis’ Patch neighborhood.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman in her 20s suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman received treatment but later succumbed to her injuries. According to SLMPD, there are no suspects in the case.

A little later, around 12:30 a.m. overnight Thursday morning, officers responded to another call for a shooting on Drury Lane in north St. Louis’ The Ville neighborhood.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man around 40 years old suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, crime scene tape was spotted outside of a house on Drury Lane and officers could be seen going in and out of the home. So far, there are no suspects in the case.
