An area of showers mainly to the south and southwest of St. Louis moves eastward as it weakens. This trend continues through the morning and rain should be done by mid-morning. Then we’ll see decreasing clouds and temperatures in the upper half of the 70s.

Late tonight, a complex of storms will arrive from the west. The extent of these storms and what is left of them as they move into the viewing area is still in question. The severe threat overnight is higher to our west in central Missouri, but there is a possibility some of these storms are still strong as they move in overnight. As they push east, they should continue their weakening trend.

After the storms wrap up early in the morning, we get a break for much of the day on Monday. This will allow our atmosphere to destabilize as a warm front continues lifting northward.

Monday afternoon and evening, another round of storms will develop and some of these could be strong to severe with all modes of severe weather (hail, wind, tornado) a concern. Heavy rain may also come into play leading to minor flooding.

Another round of storms may develop on Tuesday into Tuesday night. By Wednesday, we will potentially still have some showers around, but rainfall amounts should stay light.

The heavy rain threat will need to be monitored from late Sunday night through Tuesday night as we could see rainfall totals between 2″ to 4″. A cooler airmass will be in place starting Wednesday with highs only in the 60s.
