ST. LOUIS – Barstool Sports’ personality Frank “The Tank” Fleming made a stop at a popular St. Louis restaurant to provide an interesting review of their hot dogs.

Fleming became popular for his passionate New York Mets opinions and through a variety of series on the Barstool platform, including “Tanking,” “Frank Walks,” and more.

In a recent episode of his Barstool Sports’ show, “Raw Dogging,” a series in which Fleming reviews a variety of hot dogs across the country, “The Tank” visited St. Louis staple Fitz’s Root Beer, located at 6605 Delmar Blvd. The visit comes after Fleming had previously stopped at Steve’s Hot Dogs to share his opinion on their signature frank.

Although Fitz’s is known for its vintage soda, Fleming shares that he was attracted to the restaurant because of the wide variety of food they feature, including various appetizers, burgers, pizza, and of course, hot dogs.

During the visit to Fitz’s, Fleming provided ratings for the restaurant’s plain hot dog, the chili cheese dog, fries, onion rings, and a diet root beer. Instead of using a traditional numeral method to rate the dogs, Fleming used a set of baseball plays to rate the restaurant’s dogs.

After trying the hot dogs, Fleming rated both franks singles, but acknowledged that the rating was impacted due to his displeasure with the ratio of the bun being too large for the hot dog itself, along with the chili dog being a “little sloppy.”

He ultimately reverted to the conventional numerical rating system when reviewing the two sides and drink, providing raving reviews. Fleming shared that he enjoyed the fries, giving it a 7.2 rating and stated the onion rings were “among the best” he ever had, rating it an 8.8. As for the diet root beer, Fleming acknowledged that he rarely conducts soda reviews but made an exception, rating the drink a 7.9.

Despite the rating deductions, Fleming shared that he enjoyed the restaurant overall and the various features visitors can see while eating there.
