ST. LOUIS – New shocking satellite images show widespread damage in north St. Louis before and after a deadly tornado ripped through the region last Friday.
Footage from Maxar Technologies via Storyful shows the extent of damage by comparing photos taken on April 22 – nearly one month ago – and May 18 – two days after the destruction.
The images showed many destroyed houses, trees leveled and debris strewn across the streets.
Five people died in the City of St. Louis during Friday’s severe storms and an estimated 5,000 homes were damaged.
The National Weather Service confirmed there was an EF-3 tornado that ripped through several neighborhoods in north St. Louis, in addition to parts of nearby Clayton and University City.
