MISSOURI – Various wildfires are currently burning in Canada, prompting many in the impacted areas to evacuate from their homes.
Although the state of Missouri is thousands of miles away from Canada, the smoke from the wildfires is expected to hit the Midwest by the end of this week.
FOX 2 meteorologists predict this weekend in St. Louis that the skies may be a bit hazy due to the ongoing fires.
Smoke from the wildfires in Canada is expected to get caught in the jet stream and head south across the border, eventually hitting the Mississippi River Valley.
Despite possibilities of a gray weekend, the smoke will likely remain high in the atmosphere, creating a hazy presence.
The smoky atmosphere can also make an orange and red sunset over the weekend.
