ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – The frigid weather did not stop the groundbreaking Wednesday morning for the latest St. Jude Dream Home in the St. Louis area.

This is the 16th year for the Dream Home contest in the St. Louis region. The dream home is set to be built in the Inverness subdivision in Dardenne Prairie, just off Bryan Road.

Those with Fischer Homes, the company working with St. Jude to build the home, say it is going to be a three-bedroom, two and a half-bath ranch home with a finished basement. The estimated value of the home is expected to reach $650,000.

Tickets go on sale for $100 each on June 5. A total of 17,500 tickets will be sold and the raffle for the giveaway of the home and other prizes will take place on August 14 live on FOX 2 News in the morning.

The grand opening for the public to view the home will be on July 12, with open houses taking place every weekend from then until the giveaway. All of the proceeds from the tickets will be donated to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital fight children’s cancer and other life-threatening conditions.
