ST. LOUIS – Cinco de Mayo festivities are set to return to St. Louis this Saturday on May 3, taking place on Cherokee Street from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a variety of activities planned despite the possibility of rain.

The festival promises a lively atmosphere with Dynamo Wrestling making a comeback, alongside performances from local musicians and DJs.

A fun zone will be available for children, ensuring entertainment for all ages.

“(It’s) a family zone with bounce houses and face, painting and balloon, art and other activities for kids we’ve got four micro stages this year representing a bunch of local talent, DJs, dance troops, rock ‘n’ roll bands, all of it as well as the parade,” said John Joern, director of Events for Cherokee Street.

Preparations for the festival have been underway for about a month, ensuring a well-organized event that caters to the diverse interests of attendees.

The parade, a highlight of the festival, will commence at 1 p.m., traveling down Cherokee and Utah streets and cutting through the festival area on Texas Avenue.

Despite the expected rain, organizers are confident that it won’t cause a washout, allowing the festivities to continue as scheduled.
