ST. LOUIS – Our cut-off area of low pressure continues to drift north, keeping us a bit cooler for one more day.

Out the door Tuesday, we’ll be dealing with dense fog in many spots. Overnight, visibility has been less than a quarter mile in spots. Once we hit sunrise, the fog will begin to burn off, but it may linger in spots through 8 a.m.

While the fog and some morning clouds will burn off by lunchtime, there are chances for some scattered showers and storms Tuesday afternoon, mainly along and east of the Mississippi River. The temperature highs will rise to the upper 70s.

Skies will clear Tuesday night. Wake-up temperatures Wednesday will be in the low 60s. Wednesday through Friday will bring hot temperatures to the St. Louis region. Expect highs in the mid-80s on Wednesday and around 90 F on Thursday. Near 90 F again Friday with thunderstorms Friday evening as a cold front moves through the region.
