ST. LOUIS — A cold snap will grip the region Sunday, bringing a mix of rain and snow in the morning, blustery winds, and temperatures struggling to reach the upper 40s.

The wintry weather won’t last long, but Sunday will feel more like February than mid-March. Precipitation will taper by late morning, with decreasing clouds and highs between 45 and 49 degrees. Northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph will add an extra chill.

Sunday night will be mostly clear and cold, with lows near 31. A rapid warm-up follows for the start of the week. Monday, St. Patrick’s Day, will be mostly sunny with highs around 68 and lows near 54.

By Tuesday, temperatures climb further, with a high of 79 under variable clouds and a low near 60. Rain and wind return on Wednesday, along with cooler air—highs will top out around 72 before dropping to the mid-30s by nightfall.
