ST. LOUIS – Good riddance to the rain. But in its wake, we have a couple of colder days to content with and the concern about a freeze, especially for Tuesday morning.

A chilly to cold start to Monday, but overnight clouds and some residual moisture in the atmosphere are keeping a lot of the St. Louis region just above freezing Monday morning. Mostly sunny skies Monday as a cold front heads our way. That front will pass through dry and temperature highs will range from the 50s north of I-70, where the front will pass earlier in the day, to the low 60s farther south.

Monday night will be clear with light winds and this will allow temperatures to fall below freezing into Tuesday morning with temperatures near 30 F in the metro area, but down into the 20s in outlying areas. A Freeze Warning is in effect for the region. These cold temperatures can damage or kill some of the sensitive vegetation here in our early Spring.

A sunny but cool day Tuesday, with highs in the low to mid 50s. Clouds increase and we won’t be as cold Wednesday out the door; wake-up temperatures will be in the 40s. Wednesday may bring some light rain and a few storms late afternoon and evening.
