ST. LOUIS – A delivery driver had his van stolen in south St. Louis City on Saturday.

According to a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the hold-up took place around 5:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Minnesota Avenue in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood.

The 42-year-old victim told police he’d just finished making a delivery and was returning to his van when a man with a face covering ran up and pointed a gun at him. The armed man demanded the victim’s keys to the delivery van. The victim initially dropped the keys, but the suspect picked them up, got in the van, and drove away.

The victim was not injured, police said.

As more police responded to the area, officers located the delivery van in a nearby alley. Several packages had been stolen from the vehicle.
