FLORISSANT, Mo. – An incarcerated person at the Florissant Police Department died Sunday after being found unresponsive in his jail cell.
According to Officer Steve Michael, a Florissant police spokesman, Chief Tim Fagan requested the St. Louis County Police Department handle the investigation into the detainee’s death.
“Our department takes any in-custody death seriously,” Fagan said. “We are committed to a full and transparent investigation and that’s why I have asked the St. Louis County Police Department to lead the investigation. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.”
The deceased person’s name has not been released. FOX 2 News will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
