ST. LOUIS – A 30-year-old woman has been charged for drunk driving that resulted in a wrong-way head-on collision earlier this year.
Court documents state that police were initially called to a wrong-way driver on Interstate 55 on Feb. 15 when they were rerouted to a collision on I-55 at Interstate 44.
Police found Asia Reid, who admitted to drinking and driving but said she could not remember the accident. A BAC test came back more than double the legal limit, at 0.23%.
The victim driver told police she was driving southbound I-55 when she was hit head-on by Reid. The victim was injured and her car had significant damage from the accident.
Reid is charged with second-degree assault, first-degree property damage, and driving while intoxicated.
Reid is being held on no bond.
