ST. ANN, Mo. – On Tuesday, St. Louis County reported almost 100,000 people have already voted early at one of the 14 absentee voting locations.
Despite long lines outside, the Board of Elections site in St. Ann moved voters along quickly.
“I was expecting like maybe an hour,” said Shane Harris. “Looks like we will be getting in shortly.”
Tuesday marks one week since voters have had a chance to vote and cast an absentee ballot in-person for the November 2024 presidential election. The 2024 General Election Day is now one week away.
“It is even more popular than those 14 sites can seemingly accommodate. So we started on the first day with over 15.000 voters across those 14 sites. Yesterday, we had over 20,000 people vote across those sites. It has exceeded our expectations,” said Eric Fey, Democratic Director of Elections for St. Louis County.
Fey said the St. Louis County Board of Elections Office in St. Ann is seeing the most voters each day, but said registered voters in the county can vote at any of the 14 locations.
“It was worth the drive. We had actually gone to Jamestown before and that one was a really long, so we decided to come here instead,” said Dana Evans after voting at the North County Recreation Complex.
Voters said the map on the county’s website showing wait times at each location is helpful to check before heading out to vote.
“You’ve got the option to vote at the library which can get you through quicker. They have an app that you can pull up and determine how long it is going to take to vote. So I suggest you use that,” said Tim Henry.
