ST. LOUIS — A former manager at a Midas automotive repair store in St. Louis has been charged after allegedly burglarizing two shop locations.
According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, Joshua Knight, 42, was the manager of a Midas store located off of 3538 S. Kingshighway, which was one of the shops he allegedly burglarized.
Police responded to a call for burglary at a Midas store located at 4723 Hampton Avenue on March 31. The caller told police when he arrived at the store, he saw the garage bay window had been shattered and $770 cash was stolen from the register.
Later that day, police received another call for burglary at the South Kingshighway location. The store’s manager told police one of the windows had been shattered and $100 was missing from the register.
The next day, police again were called to the Hampton Avenue location after a metal garage bay door had been kicked in and $15 in rolled coins had been stolen.
During the investigation, police were informed that Knight was the manager at the South Kingshighway location and was responsible for the three burglaries. License plate readers additionally caught Knight’s vehicle at each store location at the time of the burglaries.
Knight later admitted to police during arrest that he played a role in the three burglaries. Police have a warrant out for Knight’s arrest. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m.
