ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A St. Louis County mother was charged last week after her 4-year-old and 6-month-old were allegedly exposed to THC and methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Kellsy Grady, 24, admitted to police that there was open drug use at her residence that could have endangered her children when police responded to a welfare check at her home on May 24.
When police arrived at Grady’s home for the welfare check, she was initially not at home with her children. The homeowner, Grady’s mother, called Grady, asking her to return with her two children, K.J., 4 years old, and K.F., 6 months old.
Grady at first refused to come back but later returned and took the children to the hospital, where they tested positive for THC and methamphetamine.
Grady was taken into custody at the hospital, and she admitted to open drug use at her home that her children could have been exposed to.
Grady has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and is held on a $250,000 bond. She is scheduled for a bond reduction hearing on June 3 and a preliminary hearing on July 3.
