ST. LOUIS – FOX 2, KPLR 11 and KMOX are collaborating to help those affected by the tornado that hit St. Louis on May 16.
City officials reported that five people lost their lives, and others are currently facing housing displacement in the aftermath of the storm.
The National Weather Service classified the tornado that occurred last Friday as an EF-3 tornado, causing damage to over 5,000 homes.
The neighborhoods impacted include the Central West End, DeBaliviere Place, Fountain Park, The Ville, Greater Ville, and Kingsway East.
Despite the devastation, community members have shown resilience, helping others at their time of need.
FOX 2 has been down at the scene in areas impacted and also had the opportunity to meet with leaders, such as mayor Cara Spencer, on the city’s recovery efforts.
In this partnership with the American Red Cross, we look to help raise money to help those in need.
The money that is raised will stay in the city of St. Louis, and for those interested in donating, visit here.
