LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – The cool and rainy weather could not stop droves of people from taking to the lake of the Ozarks this Memorial Day weekend.

Waves of rain and temperatures near 60 degrees brought boat traffic to halt Sunday at the lake.

While a few boaters could be spotted in the afternoon, most people were doing their best just to stay dry and warm. But the weather didn’t stop people from trying to make the best of the unofficial start to the summer season.

Our news crew did spot several tubers during a dry patch Sunday afternoon, and maybe for good reason. The lake temperature has been warmer than the air temperature for most of the weekend.

As of Sunday evening, the water temperature was about 70 degrees while the air temperature held near 60 degrees.
