ST. LOUIS – Breezy, cooler, and, most importantly, dry conditions are expected Wednesday. It is the start of a pretty good stretch of below-average temperatures.

Lots of sunshine is expected Wednesday, with temperature highs around 70 F. For comparison, the average high for May 21 is 78 F.

A little energy will drop southward in the overall northwest flow in our atmosphere overnight. This will mostly just bring some clouds back to the St. Louis region, while there will be showers across far southern Missouri. Our southernmost counties may see a few sprinkles. Wake-up temperatures Thursday will be around 50 F.

Skies clear into Thursday and temperatures will be cool, with highs in the mid-60s. The start of Friday will be cool, with temperatures in the 40s. The weather is still sunny and dry on Friday, with highs hovering around 70 F.

Unfortunately, the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, the kickoff to summer, is looking cool and wet. Chances for widespread rain increase through the weekend and continue into Monday.
