ST. LOUIS – FOX 2 is hearing from the grieving family of one of the victims in last week’s deadly standoff that ended in a shootout with police and federal agents.
The family of 58-year-old James Rodriquez is devastated after learning he was one of the three people killed by a gunman during a deadly rampage at a home in north St Louis last week.
“The way that I am grieving, I just don’t think I could ever get over it,” Miranda Hudson said.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found one man dead outside. Moments later, 61-year-old James Carter briefly spoke to officers, then went back inside and opened fire.
The gunfire sparked a deadly shootout involving one St. Louis police officer and an ATF special agent. Carter was shot and killed inside the home. Police then found two more homicide victims. FOX 2 learned that Rodriquez was rehabbing a home at the time of the incident.
Authorities identified the other two victims as Tyrone Mason, 57, and Ariel Eastling, 34.
As Rodriquez’s family copes with a loss they never expected, the family is pleading for support.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses. It can be viewed here.
