ST. PETERS, Mo. – More victims are coming forward in what police say is a home renovation theft case costing St. Peters residents hundreds of thousands of dollars.

One homeowner says he paid $22,500 to renovate two bathrooms before the contractor, Affordable Kitchens and Baths, disappeared.

“They were taking money and not doing anything,” John Christensen said. The business has a massive and now apparently vacant warehouse on South St. Peters Parkway.

“I kept calling and no answer.”

Christensen left a Post-it note on the door with his phone number and frustrations about the business.

“Other victims started calling me,” he said.

Sgt. Melissa Doss, St. Peters Police Department, said the case against defendants Britney Callier and Lonnie Walker is growing. The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged both with 10 felony stealing counts on April 9.

“We had four additional victims come forward. Our detective’s currently working those cases, and he is expecting to file charges on those as well,” Doss said.

Police said 14 reported victims now claim a total of $209,000 lost.

FOX 2 contacted attorneys for both defendants, who said their clients are embarrassed and are working on a plan to repay every victim. We’ll be monitoring that plan as the St. Peters Police Department anticipates more victims.

If you think you’re a victim, you can contact the investigating detective directly, Detective Mike Genaro, at 636-278-2244 ext. 3530 or mgenaro@stpetersmo.net.
