ST. LOUIS — Just months after filing for bankruptcy protection, Hooters has closed dozens of locations, including its only restaurant in downtown St. Louis.

Hooters abruptly closed more than 30 locations across the country after filing for bankruptcy in late March, though the chain initially indicated their restaurants would not close as a result of the bankruptcy filing.

The restaurant known for chicken wings and waitstaff has closed its location at 100 N 7th Street in downtown St. Louis.

Hooters said the decision to close was difficult, but they are committed to supporting their employees and customers.

The restaurant chain did not disclose when employees were notified of the closures.
