ST. LOUIS — Ameren crews from Illinois, Arkansas, Indiana, and Oklahoma have been working alongside Missouri-based crews to help restore power to those impacted by Friday’s storm.
According to Ameren, 76% of customers have had their power restored since Friday’s severe weather. Ameren said their crews encountered 300 broken poles, extensive tree damage, blocked roadways, and collapsed buildings while working to restore power.
As of Monday afternoon, over 26,000 are still without service as Ameren continues to work into the week.
Ameren advises staying clear of any downed power lines or poles and to always assume a downed wire is live. Customers should report any downed power lines to Ameren Missouri at 800-552-7583.
Ameren also advises customers to be aware of scammers and remember that an electric company will never request upfront payment or a reconnection fee to restore service.
